Going That Extra Mile!
"It is the Spirit that quickeneth (or makes alive); the flesh profiteth
nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are
life." John 6:63
"The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus hath made me (us) free from
the law of sin and death." Romans 8:2
Surgery had been scheduled to remove a sizable tumor from the breast of its
victim. The pastor's daughter sat stoically, as the Holy Spirit, poised to
manifest the very nature and essence of the Master, accorded Words of
Knowledge. Judy didn't mince terms with Him, that morning. "If Paul calls me
by name and relates my condition, in detail, only then will I step out of
this seat and receive healing!"
The conditions for recovery had been established. This young lady, although
appearing to be boldly calling the shots, strictly desired reality...no hype
or counterfeit, only Jesus. Nothing less would be acceptable. She knew
exactly what was required in that situation.
Within seconds, those heartfelt thoughts had become an act. In my spirit, I
heard and gave utterance to this revelation, emanating from the Throne Zone.
"There is a woman, in this auditorium, named Judy. She has a mass in her
right breast, and the Great Physician wants every cell to fall in line with
the Covenant."
The rest is history. Judy launched to the front and was immediately overcome
by the Law of the Spirit of Life. That lump yielded to the spoken Word, that
which He has exalted above His very name! Surgery would not be required.
Isn't it marvelous how the Father will travel that extra mile, or more, when
we get serious with Him? He knows the heart well. Some might perceive Judy's
demands as disrespectful. But, bless God, the Creator understands us!
Del Rio, Texas, was the scene of another mighty encounter from outer
space...Heaven! This individual was broadly known for her cursing. Every
other word turned the air blue. In fact, it might be fair to say, she was
profoundly oppressed, influenced by a stronghold that just did not seem to
let go.
Nothing is too difficult for the One who knows and loves us best! Standing in
front of that group, totally dependent upon the Third Person of the Trinity,
I recognized that lifesaving unction from above, and shared another Word.
"There is a lady present, who has been in acute pain for a prolonged period,
as a result of large stones assaulting her gallbladder." Within minutes, she
was standing before me, eyes closed. The wind of the Spirit blew, as that
saint was subsequently overcome by the Power Agent in attendance! Her pain
completely vanished. Medical follow-up revealed, not only an empty bladder,
but a new heart, since the old one was so damaged that surgery would have
been impractical.
Five years later, the pastor fully related her story, adding, "Not a service
is missed. In fact, aside from the profane tongue being transformed, this
saint repeats her testimony, weekly, giving praise and glory to God, where it
belongs!"
Signs and wonders are the dinner bell of the Holy Spirit! What would we do
without Him? He seals our redemption, marks us to be present on that day,
accords boldness and power to work the works! Take Him away, and there is no
truth, no power! As humans, we do not possess the ability, on our own, to
save, heal and accurately discern. Neither could there be that boldness, so
clearly demonstrated by beautiful Cassie Bernall, as she became this nation's
latest martyr. The shot that took her life was heard around the world,
manifesting itself in a challenge to all. What price will you pay for His
Glory? "No greater love hath any man/woman, than he/she lay down his/her
life for another." This planet will never be the same, because she said,
"Yes!" to Jesus. Others are living in His fullness, this moment, and many will
follow, because of the intensity of Cassie's love for Him.
No man comes to the Father, unless the Spirit draws him! And, how does He do
that? The answer is clear and simple...via signs, wonders and miracles, a
manifestation of Jesus' heart, so well portrayed two-thousand years ago, as
the Savior preached the Gospel, healed the sick, cast out devils and raised
the dead. Nothing has changed in His plan, except that the believer is to
perform "even greater works than these!"
You and I have been given the keys to Daddy's store, the Kingdom, actually, a
full anointing to win the lost, overcome evil with good, destroy all works of
the enemy. Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds...in the eyes of the
world, presenting as forgiveness. When sickness, poverty and death appear to
be gaining an upper hand, the Greater One, on the inside of your spirit, is
there to reverse those processes!
Yes, I often think of Judy, recognizing that the Father will go more than
that extra proverbial mile to meet us. In fact, He will suspend the laws of
nature, when necessary, to meet the needs of humanity.
Why are we living so far beneath His mandate, our rights and privileges in
Christ? He died and was raised from the dead, so we could be conduits of that
life. His precious Blood still speaks, today, a message of redemption for all
humanity...spirit, soul and body. Only the Holy Spirit, inside that yielded
earthen vessel of clay, can turn this world upside down. He yearns for your
sensitivity and obedience! Will you hear His voice and be obedient? So much
hangs in the balance!
