The Alpha And Omega!
"And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an
outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with
wonders..." Deuteronomy 26:8
"Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for
wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in Mount Zion."

"He...worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth." Daniel 6:27
"And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among
the people. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of
men and women." Acts 5:12, 14
In the past, when time permitted, I have often enjoyed listening to Paul
Harvey's program on the radio. His famous broadcast was invariably identified by
the man's verbal, yet characteristic, signature... "And now, the rest of the
story!" From the trivial to the most significant, Paul brought the factual
to light with greater detail than was evident in any other newscast. We,
indeed, learned a lot from this professional's research and enthusiasm for more.
Filling in the blanks was important to him and obviously a lot of other people.
So many of us readily accept what we see, hear, feel, taste or smell as the
final authority. In other words, the sense realm has been a proverbial
measuring stick of what's real and true. Thus, we've been limited to strictly a few
of many vital realms.
Rarely does one question what's placed before him. For example, in
restaurants, patrons order from a menu, sometimes not knowing what the dish is really
like, how it has been prepared, the condition of the kitchen, or expertise
and attitude of the so-called chefs. We don't know what's actually happening
around that dish. There's a taking for granted that everyone is acting in our
best interest, as concerned about us as we are, with similar standards and
value systems
.
When the plate arrives, a majority of people inspect their order, in hopes
of accuracy and quality. Should nothing be moving around on the platter, the
food is consumed without further comment or thought. In this busy world, some
don't even take the time to taste what's ingested. Neither do they remember
what breakfast, lunch and dinner were all about.
Absent a knowledge of who we are in Christ, the rat-wheel of life has an
effective tendency of wearing down and discouraging its passenger. The general
nature of man is prone to that process...sort of like the toleration of
weather conditions, accepting what's predicted as the norm, more often than not,
refusing to question and challenge for fear of confrontation, rejection or
other emotional discomforts. So, he eats whatever has been placed in front of
him...spirit, soul and body, while maintaining a baseline that frequently falls
far short of the best...naturally and supernaturally.
Are you living beneath your rights and privileges in the Kingdom? To be
totally honest with you, I am. Unless we're walking in the Spirit twenty-four
hours a day, a "dumbing down" effect is realized. Basically, that encompasses
becoming traditional and passive, calling things as they are, rather than what
each should be, neglecting an articulation and infusion of God's will and
actions into any given situation and circumstance. We ingest what's placed
before us and become programmed to do that on a daily basis. The victim of this
inferior mentality soon is conditioned to the mundane and established norm, a
distant position from ruling and reigning in Christ.
Things aren't always as they appear. Since the seen gains its genesis from
the unseen...the location of creation's origin, every Believer must ongoingly
look to the Author and Finisher of faith for the "rest of the story," what
could and should be, while glorifying the Lord in life and ministry. Remaining
cognizant of the Word, along with its associated Covenant and Great
Commission, all of which are our measuring stick, we are to bring every thought and
circumstance into captivity. In obedience to Christ, while casting down vain
imaginations and high thoughts, Heaven's Soldier runs everything by the cross.
Jesus' recorded behavior becomes our pattern and model for the Family's
present and future attitude and conduct. Nothing short of His results,
incorporating those greater works, will do. If the shoe doesn't fit, it's not worn. What
fails to feel right, isn't. Deferring to the Word, we're motivated and moved
by heart promptings...the invisible.
Not unlike any good law enforcement officer, the Christian becomes aware of
all words and statutes, poised to protect and serve, correct whatever is
wrong, including bringing all enemies into captivity...sin, sickness, poverty,
death and oppression at any level. The betterment of the whole is his priority.
I recently lost one of the best friends anyone could ever have...Cindy Ward.
She stood with me for twelve years. In her eyes, Paul could do no wrong,
even when he did. This handmaiden made room for my humanity and mistakes, many
that they were. Her caring and love were unconditional. Cindy's posture in
life was to put others ahead of herself. If the girl had a dollar, she'd find a
way to translate it into a dispatched gift. My house is loaded with them. I
took Cindy for granted, thinking that nothing would ever change. The lady
would always be available to me. How wrong this writer was. My penalty is that
very misconception.
That's our eternal orientation, one sadly robbing the possessor. Since the
human spirit and soul can never die, we have a tendency to think that there
will always be plenty of opportunities for performing a task or expressing
previously unstated appreciation. Even a beautiful rose has a designated period
of longevity. One day, it's no longer present for enjoyment. Flowers are
created to reflect God's love for us and to be enjoyed. We can either acknowledge
and act upon that fact, or mow them down without thought or consideration.
Cindy passed away at twenty-nine. A piece of me went with her, since we're
all little mirrors, reflecting identity and response toward one another. When
one leaves another's mosaic, we no longer see ourselves through the eyes of
that person, at least, not on this side.
Losing Cindy was devastating. I could never accurately describe the internal
pain that has caused me. Tears were many, and it's not over. Precious, or
costly, in the eyes of the Lord is the worldly physical absence of any Child.
Death doesn't feel right, because it isn't.
You and I are an extension of the Father and Son. So, we too are moved by
His emotions. That's what motivates the Church to plunder hell and populate
Heaven with Glory's final word...God's miraculous! Satan has a tendency of
initiating his best shot. But for that Glory, the "rest of the story," is just
before us on Destiny's Highway.
While grieving Cindy's change of venue, the Holy Spirit expediently reminded
me of John the Baptist's beheading. No one was closer to Jesus than he.
There was a special, unique bond between the two of them. They were inseparable
in many ways.
What did Jesus do when John was killed? He went off, grieved and communed
with the Father. The Master could have raised him back to life, but that wasn't
in the plan. Instead, our Savior's retort was an attack against hell by
walking on water, feeding the multitude, healing the sick, raising the dead and
casting out devils.
Follow that progression in the Book. He refused to quit, but went about
doing good and delivering all oppressed of the devil, since God was abundantly
present in His forward movement. The Son's strength was made perfect in what
appeared to be situational weakness. The Redeemer's resurrection finalized that
premise.
The Church hasn't been called to clean up the Adversary's messes. To the
contrary, we're in charge of the show. The Holy Spirit has more to say about
this awesome fact. Let's tune in!
I Object!
"Dissatisfied One, do you really believe that I have left the Body of Christ
in a helpless and hopeless state on this planet? Why would a compassionate,
loving, meticulous, balanced, full of Life Heavenly Father exit the scene of
what some might deem an accident without restoring and reconciling all that
is in the Word and Covenant? Humanity has walked by sight for far too long. As
time passes, personal encounters with sin's byproducts either point people
to the cross or, as intended by its author (Satan), cause division among men
and God. When attacked by an onslaught from hell, don't accept that mess as My
will or something that has to be swallowed and endured. The Church was never
established for passivity. Instead, I have unctioned and ordained Her to be
violent, not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities
in high places. The Savior's mindset concerning evil's wiles is to disseminate
truth, Love, Light and Life, in the form of captivating captivity, putting
smiles on the faces of the grieving, widowed, hungry, tormented, lost and
confused. He does that by way of signs and wonders, the Holy Spirit's dinner
bell. Jairus' daughter and Lazarus received life again. The sick and maimed were
made well. Even the laws of nature were suspended to benefit humanity. The
libraries of this world couldn't possibly contain the volumes of a
three-and-a-half year ministry defying the previously undefiable, performing the
impossible and unbelievable. He challenged the early Church to not accept anything
from the fiery pit as a final outcome. To the contrary, the Saints of old well
learned that faith-filled words could and would dominate the law of sin and
death. Such as they had was freely dispensed to an earth, hungering, thirsting
and travailing for a manifestation of the Sons and Daughters of Glory.
Complacency and tradition have overstayed their non-welcome for far too long.
Lacking vision, people have perished. From My vantage-point, a new day has
arrived, an hour to test and taste the fruit. If sour and non-glorifying of the
Risen, Victorious Christ, they are to be thrown on the dump heap. Don't be shy.
Cast down, reject and object when confronting the inferior. First Class is
Heaven's act! Any good salesman is aware of how important presenting his goods
in the best possible light has become. You have no shortage! Reflect upon
those occasions when store shelves have been empty. How frustrating that was! In
this scenario, there's no profit gained from either end, since one cannot
sell what isn't on the cart. Well, the excellency of that Treasure within the
Bride has full sufficiency in all pertaining to life and godliness. Never at a
loss for words or wisdom when before Presidents, Kings and other
rulers...good, bad and indifferent, the Christian won't suffer a deficit in any region.
Even in Old Testament days, Daniel, Moses and David embraced a solid knowing
and favor. More importantly, 'victory' was their middle name. Have you ever
noticed that from Genesis to Revelation, all is progressive, comprehensive and
foundational for the here and now? A constructing has been taking place,
brick upon brick, line upon line, here a little, there a little. The Chief
Cornerstone is Glory's Gem...Jesus! Nevertheless, as He is, in the now, you have
become...in this world. The Body is on the cross. Yet, She isn't stuck at that
physical point, but has been spiritually elevated with Christ, seated
together with Him in Heavenly Places, positionally, vitally, legally and
strategically, for the express purpose of wrapping up this age with an internationally,
universally, eternity-shaking message...'It is finished. We win! Welcome
home!'
