Out With The Old!
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we
have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2: 16
"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are
complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power...." Colossians
2:9-10
"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the
same bringeth forth much fruit (Life, Light, Love, prosperity, health,
Resurrection Power): for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5
The Lord resoundingly spoke to my heart earlier this week about times and
seasons. In essence, He introduced the revelation by way of significant
promises discovered in both Old and New Testaments, concerning provision,
Supernatural manifestation... signs, wonders and miracles. This is what He had to say:
"Paul, when walking into a supermarket, what do you see?"
My instant reaction to that query was..."Groceries!"
He further remarked, "Most people expect to encounter shelves filled with
products in their same respective locations. Nevertheless, few think in terms
of expiration dates, rotation, replacement, freshness and origin. They trust
and take so much for granted, but are really at the full mercy of those who
manufacture, promote and stock those tangible goods. Heaven's Glory Store must
champion freshness, a moment by moment shifting, switching and rotation
between the old and new. What used to taste good and work won't any longer, since
the needs and necessities of this era have changed and accelerated, with
seasons becoming shorter and unprecedented. Most importantly, all is assuming a
newness. Nothing and no one can redirect or stop that progression. Of great
danger is retaining, being constrained and restricted by former mindsets,
because the only constant is change, a shifting requiring corresponding actions.
People, places, things and circumstances are under unusual modification, from
activities within the Church to one-on-one relationships. Vindication,
restoration and reconciliation are the theme of what's about to transpire. Any good
soldier should be prepared to modify and move on a moment's notice, when
given orders determining position and direction. Those resisting this constant
'change' will swiftly encounter anxiety, depression, despondency, apathy and
ineffectiveness. No man can go to war at his own expense. Victory is only as
good as those directing strategy. Analogous to that grocery store scenario,
the Kingdom of God operates at lightning speed, always generating 'the new.'
Only the Mind of Christ can comprehend these movements and mandates. Every
Christian possesses that marvelous Entity. Yieldedness, anticipating the cost and
setting your face as flint will determine the outcome. In Glory's Store
there are no bargain basements or stale products. Neither do I rotate the old.
Fresh Bread is constantly made in Heaven's Bakery and served through that very
word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Trust not in oppression. It won't
always be around, due to the 'change factor.' Neither are you to lean in the
direction of natural understanding. In order for there to be room for the new,
the old must be removed. Working in you, both to will and do of Glory's good
pleasure, I'll accomplish that with your cooperation. Again, consider not
the former days. Refuse to rest on laurels or mistakes. The past is to be
reframed and restructured, not resurrected."
Two thousand years ago, manifestations didn't simply happen at random with
out reason or purpose. To the contrary, the Word emphatically tells us that God
doesn't do anything without first telling His servants, the prophets. I
often wondered why it was necessary for Heaven to establish such a system of
delivery. The answer is obvious. People have been created in the Father's
likeness and image to represent Him as Joint-Heirs with Christ, while, as the Voice
of His Word, they set into motion that which has been reserved for the
Family.
The Bride remains in Covenant with the Throne Room, backed by the precious
Blood of the Lamb. We have been given the keys to God's vehicle, His
storehouse of solutions, remedies, answers, body parts and riches for the Kingdom's
establishment. Stated another way, the Church has been left in charge of the
store. What an awesome privilege and responsibility that is!
Let's take a little sidetrip. Along with a clinical practice and ministry,
most of my vocational life has been in the electronic media and health care
field, from NBC News, New York, to News Director for the Maine Broadcasting
System, as well as positions on administrative staffs of Medical Centers. Law
enforcement, as a commissioned officer, has been part of that occupational
mosaic. The latter job involved academy work and taking Constitutional oaths.
I've been "sworn in" all over the place. With each position, there's not only a
training and learning process, but an expectation of performance and fruitful
production, required for society's protection.
A police officer is held to a higher standard than the general public, due
to the power inherent within that office. The same is true of a doctor, lawyer
and numerous other professions, wherein trust is invested and expertise
expected. Heaven also not only depends upon the Body to hear and perform
exploits, but embraces an anticipation of obedience and faithfulness to the
Commander-in-Chief.
We've learned a lot. To whom much is given, much is required. The more one
knows, the weightier becomes his responsibility. God's realm of activity must
be included here. The blood of innocence cannot be found on idle hands of
narcissism and distraction. The Church, instead, is to recognize, respect and
astutely react to the Great Commission, Christ's Life Force...the Blood, which
has a Voice of its own and will always manifest to benefit humanity, even if
that requires suspending the very laws of nature and the universe.
Realistically, without us, prophecies and promises can't be fulfilled. As
the Spout where the Glory comes out, the Bride is the Most High's synapse or
spark, the business end of the Creator's heart, transferring, to the four
corners of this planet, Lightning Bolts of truth, healing, deliverance and
resurrection, which literally bridge the gap between Heaven and earth, thus
fulfilling Jesus' prayer in that regard.
Our involvement in the impending Great Outpouring is present and
meticulously addressed within the Word. Beyond that, glorifying the Risen Christ through
His Bride thrills the Redeemer beyond imagination. He's proud of the Church
and has given us Heaven's all and Best...God's one and only sinless Son, so
that He can secure effectiveness, success, destiny and outcome. We're talking
about a healthy, positive enmeshment between the Throne Room and earth, as
bone of His bone, and flesh of Dad's flesh. It blows me away whenever there's a
contemplation of the Father's DNA flowing within and through every atom and
fiber of my being. As He is, we have become in this world.
Why else would Heaven share intricate plans and intents with the Family?
Just as Jesus went about doing good and healing all oppressed of the devil, all
the while reversing tormenting captivity, we must do likewise. The Master's
final words mandate that. In order for Christ to complete His ministry on this
planet, the Father and Son had to be One. Our Savior said, "What you witness
Me doing is what I see My Father willing and wanting at the other end." He
was sent to perform the intent of the Sender. Consequently, through His
completed work, the Believer has also been dispatched with the identical Power,
authority and outcome.
Times and seasons are necessary for accomplishing the Word. First, a sowing
is required...hearing and speaking that which has been revealed while
visiting the Secret Place. No harvest can be enjoyed unless or until good seeds are
planted in rich soil, where conditions are most conducive for growth and
fruit.
Life resides in that natural kernel, not unlike God's Seed...the Word,
perpetually working in and out of season. Seeds don't rest. When the Church
cooperates with that still, small Voice, the greatest harvest results.
In subsequent chapters, we'll be talking about identifying life's positives
in negatives. The cross appeared to be an extreme negative. Yet, it led to
Jesus' resurrection, the epitome of life. Gains were abundantly rich through
Jairus' daughter's passing, the blind man's limitations and the lepers'
precarious state.
"This is but for the Glory of God, that the works might be made manifest in
Him!" No malady from Satan could resist those words. Death was no match for
them, either. When feeling that you're in the middle of hell, don't stop
there. Keep going. The fire won't consume what's His! Remember, you can't be on
fire without going through it! Even the smell of smoke will be repelled.
Picture yourself in a movie theater. The film is rolling, but the feature
hasn't reached its end. Your life and ministry are similar. Don't leave that
locale. Christ is seated next to you. Let Him and the indwelling Holy Spirit
continually encourage and unveil destiny. You haven't seen anything yet! The
best is coming. Glory's intermission precedes the plot's unveiling. Destiny
lies at the front door. As Paul Harvey often says..."Page two. And now, the rest
of the story!"
